The Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa, home of THE PLAYERS Championship, was a master planned project completed while part of a team at Rink Design in 2008 but never completed due to the recession.

Additions/Renovations designed for the renowned resort included a grand entrance drive, a renovated seven-story lobby, new hotel entry, 160-room hotel annex, new and renovated retail space, a 4,000 SF restaurant, and an 8,000 SF exhibit space attached to a new 750-space parking garage.

Included in the annex is a 7,000 SF double-height wedding venue and PGA Experience and Golf Shop. The 8,000 SF exhibit hall will be designed to replace the existing height-restricted exhibit space, while becoming the front façade to the four-story parking garage.

Additionally, our team master planned a portion of the site for future Villas and Hospitality structures catering to a thriving demand for golf-centered vacation guests. This new neighborhood would include for-sale residential properties as well as additional rental suites designed to be community-focused with extensive outdoor shared spaces and amenities. The new construction would wrap around a meandering lagoon with some units overlooking the iconic The Players Stadium course.
