Situated at a key intersection in Jacksonville’s urban 5-Points neighborhood, the Riverside Presbyterian Church & Day School is a historic property that anchors the neighborhood both physically and spiritually.
Dasher Hurst Architects was commissioned with the design of their first new building in decades, a new Family Life Center including a new building, track & field, and gateway for the RPDS campus. This new 13,000 sf building houses a basketball court, warming kitchen, and multi-purpose rooms that can be enjoyed by both the school and the community. The gateway will create a new front door to welcome students to the campus with a brick and stone structure facing Post Street. The design approach ties the new construction to the existing campus through the use of brick and stone, taking our cues from the predominant materials on the existing sanctuary and campus.
