DHA was the design Architect in association with the Astound Group working for CDM Smith Jacksonville in its pursuit of the Design Build contract for the JEA – Water Purification Demonstration Facility.

The project is for the design and construction of a 1.0 million gallons per day (MGD) demonstration-scale facility based around membrane-based treatment. In addition to housing the demonstration process equipment, the facility has space allocated for an education center, a guided tour pathway, and a purified water tasting booth. Tours will start in the education center, which will be equipped with state-of-the-art interactive exhibits and several technology demonstration kiosks, and progress through a guided observation path to view the installed process equipment. At the conclusion of the tour, visitors will be invited to sample the purified water at a water tasting booth. The facility will also incorporate sustainable design elements such as rain collection, green roof, Solar panels, and native landscape.
