First NBC Bank

LOCATION: New Orleans, LA

COMPLETION DATE: 2009

This two story bank was a collaborative effort of Rink Design Partnership (with Tom Hurst as Project Principal) and Sizeler Thompson Brown Architects of New Orleans.

The project, constructed along the historic St. Charles Avenue in New Orleans, was designed to match the scale of the surrounding structures, driving the need for a second story which contains administrative offices and public meeting rooms.  The first floor houses the primary retail banking functions.

The neighborhood in which the building was built is relatively high by New Orleans standards. However, considering it was constructed in the years directly following the Hurricane Katrina disaster, the building was elevated 4 feet above grade to minimize potential for flood damage.
