First Federal Bank of Florida – Wildlight

LOCATION: Yulee, FL

Wildlight is a new master planned community in Nassau County envisioned to be a walkable neighborhood built around a thriving commercial & retail town center, which includes the headquarters for the Rayonier Corporation.  Inspired by the history of lumber, railroad, agriculture, and fishing industries in Nassau County, the neighborhood, and this new bank project, seek to continue a tradition of vernacular building forms, honest material choices and human scale and sensitivity.  The First Federal Bank of Florida branch is built at one of the gateways to the neighborhood and sits adjacent to the rails-to-trails bicycle path.  As such, the design seeks to encourage interaction with the neighborhood residents by situating the building near the front sidewalk and providing a welcoming front porch.  When complete, it is anticipated that this bank will be a cornerstone of the community and contribute to a thriving commercial center for the neighborhood.
